As an architectural specifier, details can make or break your projects. When it comes to architectural doors, the terminology can be confusing to even seasoned specifiers. Many of the most difficult questions come in selecting the veneer. That’s why the National Architectural Door Council of the Window and Door Manufacturers Association developed this primer on veneer matching methods, cutting options and color selection.

Prerequisite Knowledge:
Familiarity with using WDMA Industry Standard for interior architectural wood doors.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the color and grain variation found within single grades of wood species veneer and how cutting can change the appearance of a wood veneer
  2. Describe how individual veneer pieces are matched within a door face and how door faces are laid up to achieve symmetrical or non-symmetrical appearance
  3. Understand how veneer cut, match and grade specification affects the use of Certified wood and overall wood yield
  4. Learn how to specify various wood veneers for wood flush doors so as to achieve a desired appearance

At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to take a quiz to receive one (1) continuing education credit from the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
